apud Martialem l. 14. Epigramm. 41. cuius lemma Lucerna polymyacos:
Illustrem cum tota meis convivia flammis,
Totque geram myxas, una lucerna vocor.
idem, quod ἐλλύχνιον est, seu fomes lychni et lucernae, EErant autem Myxae lychnorum, formae oblongae, unde Μύξα vel Μυξάρια Aegypti, quibus Musa hodie nomen, quod fructus hic myxae similis sit. Inde Lychnus bimyxus, trimyxus etc. a totidem myxis. Qui autem stupas lini producit, προβύειν λύχνον dicitur, et προμύττειν, apud Plutarchum. Unde apud Heronem in Pneumaticis ratio traditur, quô lychnus fieri queat ἑαυτὸν προβύσων, cuius ellychnium sponte promoveatur ac producatur: προωθεῖςθαι ἐλλύχνιον, idem ibidem dicit. Aristophanes,
